Happy Thanksgiving!!

It is that time of year again....tomorrow is Thanksgiving day! I wanted to share some of the things that I remember most about Thanksgiving at the Pyle house.

To this day it is not Thanksgiving to me without getting up to watch the parades. I remember how much fun it was to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade every year. Nothing felt right until I saw Santa Claus pull up the end of the parade. Then it was time to go to Grandma's house for the traditional feast. There was always enough for the family and at least 3 or 4 others. The traditional Football games. This is where I became a Dallas Cowboy fan for life. Of course, there was the annual Pyle Nerf Bowl in the back yard. The one thing that I will always remember and will probably never find again is Grandma's pumpkin pie. I have never had one that was like hers since. I grade every pumpkin pie I taste based on hers.

There will never be a time like that again. I often think about the crazy things that went on around the holidays and have to laugh. I am very grateful to have had the life I did growing up and would not trade those memories for anything in the world. I am truly blessed to have the family that I have and I pray each day that I can bring the wonder and magic to my family that was so dear to me then. I love you all! Happy Thanksgiving!

Terry Pyle gives tribute ....

Richard I'll always remember your passion for racing along with Jim I always loved to hear your stories. I did get to see you run once in the figure 8 races though not in this car. I will miss our conversations by phone. It seemed like most of the time it was on Sundays before the races when we would talk. After leaving home for the Air Force that I had very little time to spend with you or the rest of my family. The short times we did have together always left us laughing about those things we used to do. I am glad I was able to get to see you this summer. The whole family together again. We had a great time reminiscing while going through Mom's pictures.
Now, with a very heavy heart I must say goodbye. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I Love you Richard and I will always miss you. May God Bless.

The Next Time We Meet.

The next time we meet, we will share the same old stories, and they will be just as funny as they were the first time we told them. The next time we meet, I won't forget to hug you and let you know how great it is to see you. The next time we meet, I'll listen to every word you say as if my life depended on it. The next time we meet, I will make sure that you know just how important you really are to me. The next time we meet, I will make a promise to you to keep in touch, and this time I will. The next time we meet, I will savor every moment that I have to be around you. The next time we meet, I will tell you how blessed I really am that you are in my life and you will see it in my eyes. The next time we meet, I won't forget what you have meant to me and how much you really influenced my life. The next time we meet, it is going to break my heart to have to say goodbye.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all of you fathers out there. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know about something that is taking place this summer all across America Sean Hannity (love him or hate him) has put together five Freedom Concerts this Summer with proceeds to benefit the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund. If you want more information on the concerts or how you can help out just visit http://www.hannity.com/
I write this because Sean Hannity always greets his callers with the phrase You are a great American. As I was thinking about Father's Day it occurred to me that I was raised by a great American. My father served his country with pride in the Vietnam War. He taught me respect for the American way of life and for the freedom that we all enjoy. I was walking around and swimming around Raging Rivers waterpark today and they were playing a lot of patriotic music which made me think how free we really were to enjoy all that this country has to offer. I am truly blessed to be an American and am very proud to support our men and women who are fighting for my freedom here in America and abroad.

Thank You! Happy Father's Day Dad! Happy Father's Day to our troops! God Bless America!

Father's Day Grilling Ideas

THE FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT RULE FOR OUTDOOR GRILLING IS SELECTING ONLY THE BEST CUTS OF MEAT.
As you can see in this example we have selected a ten pound slab of kid. The real secret is the rub. We recommend for this type of meat something a little spicy. It takes away all of the breastmilk aftertaste.

In all seriousness it is great to see what happens when you multiply Scroggins by two. You only get one, but that is the only one your gonna need to make your life happy.

They actually did make a great couple

As this Memorial Day rolls around I decided to pull more pics out of hiding and share them. Now, grandpa was always kind of a frugal guy which might explain why grandma has that floral arrangement pinned on her chest there. This is just my theory, but I would image there was probably a funeral in the church just before they were married there. We went to the cemetery today and much to our astonishment their graves had been moved from the last time we were there also, the tree was moved and the....getting lost in a cemetery just doesn't sound as dramatic. We did not get pictures of Wadlow's grave this time because no one brought a camera. Until September 13, 2001 we boys didn't have a real need or desire to be in the graveyard at least during daylight hours, but we have spent way too much time there from that point on. We hopefully will be making a trip out there before too long to make sure a headstone is put in place. We have waited over two years for this, and now it is almost reality. I can't wait to close that chapter. Have a Safe and Happy Memorial Day! God Bless!

The Memorial before Memorial Day

NANCY SUE (DANIELS) PYLE

JUNE 13, 1947- MAY 25, 2007

Everyday it seems I find something that reminds me of you. It may be a song on the radio, a movie on tv, a picture in an album, something someone might say to me. Everyday there is something that tells me that you are still a part of my life even though I can't see you, or speak with you I know that you will always be with me. I love you Mom and I still miss you very much. I know that this is for me, but somehow I know that you know how I feel.

Welcome To The Summer House

Hey,
I am so glad you decided to join in. I hope this will be a way where we can stay in touch a little easier, and have some fun too. I know that we will all have a great time posting on this site. I've got Wood River taken care of. They built a McDonalds in my back yard. It is cool to hear people place their orders at about 3 am. It is just really exciting. I will post a picture of this in a later blog.

So long for now from Dan, Christine, Danyelle, Josh, Alexandra, Katie, Emma, Taylor, Prince, and Hailee where ever she is.
